Tasty cheese spread
Ingredients: •6 fresh basil leaves •3 medium cloves garlic •1 (8-oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened •1 cup grated Parmesan cheese •1 cup chopped walnuts •1/2 cup olive oil •fresh basil leaves for garnish Preparation: In food processor, process basil and garlic until finely chopped. Add cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, walnuts, and olive oil; process until smooth. Transfer spread mixture to a serving bowl and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
Orange butter Ingredients: •1/2 cup softened butter •1 tbsp orange juice •1 tsp grated orange peel Preparation: Combine butter, orange juice, and orange peel; blend well.
Butter Rum Sauce Ingredients: •1 cup light brown sugar, packed •3 tablespoons flour •1/4 teaspoon salt •1/2 cup water •2 tablespoons butter •2 teaspoons rum flavoring •1/2 cup toasted pecans* Preparation: In a heavy saucepan, combine brown sugar, flour, and salt; add water. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and thick. Add butter and flavoring. Cool. Stir in toasted pecans. *To toast nuts, spread out in a single layer on a baking sheet. Toast in a 350° oven, stirring occasionally, for 10 to 15 minutes. Or, toast in an ungreased skillet over medium heat, stirring, until golden brown and aromatic.
